Put on Your Must-See List: Tour The Metropolitan Museum of Art Manus x Machina Fashion in an Age of Technology
3D printing is revolutionizing the fashion world. There is no better place to explore this phenomenon then at the dazzling Manus x Machina Fashion Exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Come explore it and our tour of The Met Museum with fashion highlights; we’ll include a look at garments and gowns in portrait paintings on the 2nd floor European painting and American decorative art and painting galleries. The ART SMART team thinks it’s one of the best Met Museum fashion shows we’ve ever seen. And the Met Museum exhibition has been getting rave reviews across the board, like:
“…might even make a viewer gasp in delight, declaring, ‘Ah, what a glorious exhibition!”—Observer
“The show is unusually thoughtful — a stately, gorgeous tutorial… exceptional …ravishing exhibition.”—New York Times

And on Friday and Saturday nights in June, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is offering a Met Fashion show-inspired tasting menu. (Perfect for after your tour.) Like the Manus x Machina Met exhibition, it combines handmade with machine-made ingredients. The tasting includes ultra-rare tuna with sea vegetables, watermelon and wasabi. And just like our Feast Your Eyes Tour & Tastings, it can be complemented with a wine flight.
Many know that The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the perfect backdrop for blossoming romance. Given that, a client asked us to choose the best beautiful, yet hidden spot at a museum for him to propose to his fiancé-to-be. There are so many stunning rooms at the Met Museum, it is hard to choose only one. We narrowed it down to these gorgeous settings:
– Roman Courtyard
– Temple of Dendur
– Engelhard Courtyard
– European Sculpture Court
– King Louis XIV’s Bedroom
– Vanderlyn Hall’s Panoramic View of Versailles
– Chinese Garden Court
We were so enthralled with this guided tour customization challenge for The Met Museum that we opened up the answer to be solved with the help of a Facebook Photo Survey. Take a look at these wedding proposal room suggestions at The Met and tell us which one you think is the perfect place to pop the question.
